When you take any kind of paper and mix it with glue and use it to make a sculpture, you are doing papier-mache. There are two types of papier-mache. One is referred to as a mash. This involves cooking up a mixture of shredded paper, water and glue. The second method is called paper strips. Paper is torn into strips and then coated with the mix of water and glue. Once the paper is wet, it is applied to the sculpture and molded into the desired shape.
The paper can be applied to a wire shape, boxes, ballons or any hard surface.
