From Bizy’s Guide To: Over 60 Quick Gifts To Make With Kids For $10 Or Less For Fun and/or Profit
Kim Moya, mother of 3 small children, a graphic designer and an avid crafter since she was young, has some really quick ideas for making gifts that don't require any special talents like sewing, baking, etc. Some of her gift ideas include ways to easily decorate a holiday sweatshirt, quick no-bake gifts from the kitchen, easy wreaths (including 2 that are edible!) and several ways to adorn a plain candle--all for under $10.00 and some for as little as $1.00! Most of the gifts take an hour or less to make, which makes them perfect for working on them with kids.
Here’s one of Kim’s ideas!
No Bake Gingerbread Boys and Girls! “Since I don't bake very much, I love this idea. Purchase pre-made "naked" gingerbread boys and girls (gingerbread figures who haven't been iced or decorated). You may need to specifically ask the baker to have some of these made and because they're naked, negotiate a lower price than the iced version. Now, go and pick out what you want to ice and decorate them with and bring it all home. It's a great rainy day project with the kids and you can easily turn it into a kit by putting several individually wrapped gingerbread men in a pouch along with the icing and decorations and a little gift tag explaining that they're ready to be dressed. Quite fun.”
